Drabenstott outlines regional approach for rural innovation
At the 2008 Arkansas State University Agribusiness Conference, keynote
speaker Dr. Mark Drabenstott, Director of the Rural
Policy Research Institute's Center for Regional Competitiveness at
University of Missouri, discussed the importance of developing
regional strategies for economic development of rural areas. Drabenstott laid out six points in developing a regional approach:
1. Think regionally
2. Craft a regional strategy
3. Build sustained regional leadership
4. Connect the region with the right innovation and technology
5. Grow lots and lots of entrepreneurs
